Craniosacral therapy is a modality that works with the craniosacral fluid around the brain and spinal cord. In order to help support the mobility of this fluid, craniosacral therapy is used. The craniosacral fluid is responsible for movement of nutrients and removal of waste around the brain and spinal cord. Some symptoms that craniosacral therapy can help with are: headaches, migraines, mood disorders, concussion and even hormone imbalances. Craniosacral therapy is not massage; although it is hands on treatment it more resembles a Reiki treatment with small movements by the practitioner, mainly around the head, neck and spine. In a craniosacral session you may feel emotions arise, different senses in your body, in space or even experience visual stimulus behind closed eyes. These are all expressions of the nervous system regulating and the movement of energy. For example: visual stimulus is a result of the optic nerve and balance and awareness of space, is more related to the vestibulocochlear nerve.
