Do You Need Commercial Liability Insurance?

Business Licensing and Business Bank Account
Now that you have a business name, and you have secured it through the provincial registration process; the next step is to ensure you have a business license with the City of Terrace (or whatever municipality you are working in).
The City of Terrace has an online business licensing portal at: https://app.civicreview.com/application/626afd983c76f2ee6a64736d

Business Bank Account
All you need to do is take a print out of the BC Registries business registration number you received when you registered (or in a follow up email they will send) and present it to your bank. It is a good idea to keep your personal and business banking separate for accounting and auditing purposes.

GST & PST
If you are selling goods, or you are making more than $30K/year, you may need to register for a GST and/or PST number and begin collecting GST/PST as required.

You only need to acquire a GST number, and start charging your clients GST for you to collect and submit at tax time, if your Gross Income is not more than $30,000/year.

You only need to acquire a PST number, and start charging customers PST if you sell goods. The PST is charged at the time of purchase.

For both taxes you need to keep track, so that at tax time, you have the correct funds to submit to the provincial and/or federal governments.

Practitioner Liability Insurance vs Commercial Liability Insurance
As a practitioner in BC, you are required to carry Practitioner Liability Insurance. It protects you from erroneous claims, and it protects your clients if there are injuries. Commercial Liability Insurance has to do with the building, room, table and commercial space & contents.
Practitioner Liability Insurers in Canada (who are good):

#1 Holmans Insurance - direct link to their therapist insurance. Click on "download form" to see the list of therapies they cover and to request a quote. https://www.therapistinsurance.ca/

#2 National Health Practitioners in Canada Insurance

Both offer content coverage as well as commercial liability insurance.
Working out of the Harmony Hands Energy Healing Center, you will not need commercial liability insurance.
